I live in New Westminster, B.C. Canada, about a 35 minute drive from the Canada/US border.
In October 2011 I purchased a 2001 BMW 325Ci Convertible; ‘too stupid” to have it checked for mechanical condition.
Since I had intended to store the vehicle till the Spring/Summer season, I took it to a local dealership for service and inspection and they informed me of a number of problems which they could rectify for the usual BMW dealer price of approximately $4500.00.
Fortunately, for me, a very good friend in Portland who also owns a 2001 BMW recommended Steve Shelton who had done work on his vehicle.
I contacted Steve and after a series of discussions decided that, given the price he quoted for the work it would be very worth while to drive the 300 miles (600 miles return). Over a two day period he completed the work and changed my wiper blades and replaced a missing “lift puck” at no charge.
I have the good fortune of visiting Portland at least once a year and, while I made a special trip to have current problems resolved, you can rest assured that if other issues involving the car arise, I’ll wait till my next visit and contact Steve for their resolution.
Thanks Steve and remember when you decide to visit Canada you and your family will have a place to stay,

I got sick of using K*** BMW. They are very expensive and i have found them to be very rude. Steve is down to earth and will treat you like a person and not as a number. He will let you know, and show you what is wrong. He tells you right up front what it will cost to fix the problem and does not tack on other fees. I would definitely recommend him to all BMW owners and as long as I own a BMW I will return to see Steve.

I've used K***, Rasmussen and Performance BMW. All are very expensive and they tend to recommend work that does not necessarily need to be done. Steve will let you know what your car needs and he does a great job at a great price. He uses top quality parts, delivers as expected and his pricing is accurate. I would definitely recommend his service and I will be using him to maintain my BMW in the future.

Hi Steve, just thought I'd let you know, I haven't seen any new oil drips on the drive since you replaced the OPG. I'll definitely come back to you for future work :)
Thanks for the work! Man Nguyen
If you want to have a mechanic that truly cares about you and your car, Steve is the right man for the job! Steve took on a job that should have been quick and easy, needless to say there was more damage than could be seen on the initial inspection. Steve went out of his way so many times to make the repairs and get the car running again. After hours diagnosing a problem my son ran out of money and could not afford the part needed. Steve went and picked up a tow dolly and drove the car over to our house. I was truly impressed and had to force him to take the money for the rental of the tow dolly. I could tell that he was truly frustrated that he could not finish the car and had to tow it. After a couple of months my son saved the money for the engine control module and it did not work after installing it, the car still would not start. After a while under the hood we found another sensor that was damaged in the accident. I checked around for the part and it would be a couple of days to get it. I thought, I wonder if Steve would have one, I placed a call and left a message. 20 minutes later Steve pulled up with a handful of parts that he had on hand. I replaced the damaged sensor and with Steve’s help the car started, my son was so happy! Like I said in the beginning if you want the best mechanic that truly cares about you and your car, Steve is the man for the job. He also had the best price in town and was really easy to work with. Steve I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your dedication and help during this frustrating repair. You are the MAN!
Thank you, Tom Wiglesworth
